what does this mean? (TMI TMI)

I have a 4 year old and have wanted to have another baby since after she was born. I was trying to get pregnant, but not actively making sure to do things at a certain time and not charting or anything but I started charting about a year ago and still nothing. So I think I may be misinterpreting my signs.  My question is: when I start to get the thick mucous does that mean I have just finished ovulating or just begun? Anyone know?

I think the thick mucus indicates ovulation, but I'm not 100% sure. Why not ck w/ your OBGYN? When I was ready to get pregnant, I told my dr that I wanted to get off the pill and start trying. It took a few months of being off the pill to get my body used to being w/out it. My dr set up a consultation w/ my husband and I, asked me a few questions about my cycle, and told us to try on given dates. I guess I was one of the lucky ones b/c I got pregnant pretty quickly. Before going to see my dr, I tried calculating my basal body temp and charting, but I found it to be confusing and time consuming. Another option might be to buy an over-the-counter ovulation predictor kit. I never used one, but it's worth a try. Don't stress, and be patient. Good luck!
