I have a 5 year old and a 10 month old. My 5 year old is a wonderful child, she is always happy but does have her moments. I am having some issues that I am needing any help I can get. Everytime I step out of the room my 5 year old is hitting my son as hard as she can. The first time it happened she kneed him in the first, the second time she smacked him in the face with her play bowling pin. what can I do?

No longer leave them alone in the room together. Discuss with the older child the proper way to treat the younger one. Try to discern why your daughter is mistreating her brother. There is probably some jealousy going on here.

I agree. Don't leave them unattended. Even if it's innocent play, someone, especially the baby cld get hurt. I wld not take this behavior lightly. Your 5 yr old needs to learn that it's not ok to play rough, and if she does, she will be punished.
