Principles and values

In a world that is getting more and more secular without any standards for behavior, I find it hard to teach children how to live a life based on principles and values instead of secular realitivism.

I'm interested in hearing from others about how and where they go to to teach their children true and good principles and values in order to have a happy and productive life.

We have a family meeting once a week. We always co-ordinate schedules, we always have a treat, we often talk about a character trait, we sometimes try to solve a specific problem we are having, we sometimes play a game or do something active or go to a community event.

I got a toddler and a preschooler, and as early as now I can see that they tend towards the selfish me-myself. This is beyond our principles because we would like them to grow up sensitive and helpful of others.

First step is to enroll them in a school with the same values as we do, and then to model the behavior we want.

Be the change you want the world to see.
