Packing up

I'm 27 weeks pregnant, just started buying things and packing up for the hospital. There are many articles about it, but I'm sure many of you might have some practical advice. Would really appreciate some kind of list of things really needed.
Thanks.

Most important thing to have is an educated advocate. Make sure your advocate knows your wishes, and is not afraid to tell a doctor no.

Socks with non skid bottoms are good for walking around. Music was a must for us. We did not take country or pop music, instead we took some great CD's of soft piano music. With the music low and the lights turned down it created a very warm and relaxing atmosphere. Books to read. A do not disturb sign on the door for well meaning family members who refuse to take a hint when baby is hungry, or mom and baby just need some time together without being interupted.

If you have not already done so, make sure you tour the ward you will be in. Make sure your advocate knows where the heated blankets are, and where the snacks are located as well. Get a list of questions to ask while taking the tour; this info and meeting the nurses is a real stress reliever. Thats all I can think of for now. Good luck and congratulations.
