My 2 1/2 year old refuses to go to pre-nursery and refuses to eat or drink while she's there. What do I do??

My 2.5 year old refuses to eat or drink anything while she's in school. She cries when I drop her off and is clearly sad when I pick her up. This is her first experience being away from me. Do I keep sending her to school and keep this new routine? Has anyone ever heard of a 2 year old hunger strike?? Help!

Wow, that sounds like a tough situation. I haven't heard of a hunger strike before. How long has she been going? My son was fine at daycare at first then he recently started to cry when I left him. But now that I waited him out for 2 weeks (dropping him off and listening to him cry was hard), he has stopped putting on a show when I leave. Time will probably fix this, but I am curious how long she has been doing this to you?

Well this is her 3rd week of school but she hasn't been going consistently everyday. Her first couple days of school she ate and then we went overseas for a bit and it was when we returned and she went back that the hunger strike began. I'm curious to know if others out there have experienced something similar. Do I just keep at it and keep sending her??
