I am the mother of a 11 month old and I work at home 2 days a week.....she is getting board during the day and I am having troubles getting work done....suggestions for activities to keep her busy?
Most any activity with an 11 month old is going to need adult assistance. If there is a certain amount of time needed during the day for you to complete your work maybe a relative could take her for that time. I always found that nap time was my time to get my things done. They usually slept for 2 to 2 ½ hours. If this is not enough time maybe getting an in home babysitter while you are there. Someone who is active with her at the house while you are there. This way you can take breaks at your leisure, and spend time with her when work permits.
Oh, this is too bad! Hardly any helpful ideas have come in for you! Just saw your post - your little one must be about 14 months old now and hopefully a little easier to keep her busy, but just in case... A lot will depend on how mobile she is. Kids this age usually love filling & dumping things from containers - any kind of box, plastic pail, etc. If it has a small hole in the lid, so much the better. I cut a 2 inch hole in the plastic lid of a large coffee can and gave my little one the large-size empty thread spools to fit in - but anything large enough to not be swallowed will do. An unbreakable mirror and almost any kind of appropriate size ball including an inflatable beach ball are kid-proven activities too. There are wonderful books on infant/toddler activity ideas available from the library. Ask the librarian to help you find them. Look around your house to see what you can adapt or make. You don't have to spend a lot of money. Of course, children this young will only play by themselves (and that will be near you) for short periods without someone checking in frequently but these play periods will get longer as she grows. Good luck!
This site has tons of great ideas for activities for kids, even little ones. Visit http://fun.familyeducation.com/activities-center/toddlers-preschoolers-K... and you can search by age and activity type. Good luck!
