My 15 yr old Freshman daughter was dating an 18 yr old Senior.  This past week, she gave him the "I like you as a friend/brother" speach.  This broke his heart; telling our son (her brother) that this has been the worst week of his life.   To make things a bit more ackward, this boy is close family friend.  She truely does want to remain friends with him and does want to spend time with him, but sees him as a brother not a boyfriend.  They had plans to see a college basketball game within the next few weeks.   She has called him to see if he would still like to go, but he will not return her phone calls.  How long do you think she should wait to hear from him?  I feel that she had made plans with him to attend the game, therefore giving him first "dibs" on going and if he feels it would be too akward, he can cancel and she can go with someone else.
