odd request

Hello All,
I think what I am going to ask is obvious but I wanted feedback and opinions.  A while back, my son (16) and daughter (15) (single mother), were watching a crime reality show (from what I remember not a show currently on, but a rerun, containing re-enactments).  This had to do with some captives who were bound and gagged, etc.  My son took an interest in that in the sense of wanting to practice and "be ready" in case that ever happened.  One day I walked in on him and my daughter playing a tie up game, and didn't think much of it.  He has approached me to join into it.   It means well, but  i told him no unless another adult is present.  On a different occasion he said he'd want to be ready and know what to do, which is true to an extent, but I just wanted to know if any one else has had a story like this or had children or seen them play similar games?

I'd say, no tie-up games in the family, not at all, it is too weird.  (unless you have a 5 year old who is lasso-ing people as s/he gallops around on his/her stick-horse.)

But, I've often been told on these forums that strongly-held opinions are somehow wrong, so, whatever!

My strong opinion is that tie up games are weird and not necessary...

I think I would be a bit worried too if one of my children wanted to play this at that age. He is nearly an adult now so I find it a bit scary.
