New Fave Parenting Book: CAN I HAVE A CELL PHONE FOR HANUKKAH (and I'm not even Jewish!)

It's funny how sometimes you find the best parenting solutions where you least expect it. My daughter has been asking me for a cell phone for Christmas, so when I saw this new parenting book called CAN I HAVE A CELL PHONE FOR HANUKKAH? I just had to buy it, even though I am not Jewish.  I have to say that I didn’t know what to expect but it is easily one of my favorite parenting books ever.  Mainly because it’s totally real.  It’s like the author is inside my head knowing everything I’m worrying about from homework to extracurriculars to the internet to playdates.  Best of all the book is hysterically funny not to mention super practical.  Why am I writing this? Because it was such a great surprise and I wanted to get the word out because this book deserves to be read by EVERY parent, regardless of religion.  Can’t wait to hear how you like it!

Hi there-That sounds great. Is it geared toward older children?  I have a 2 1/2 year old and I didn't know if it applied to the younger ages?

OKay, on that note, I have a new favorite holiday site - for all the holidays (including the tooth fairy)... www.TinkerTank.org,
which has a very modern take on all the major holidays, but, most
importantly, each of the holiday sections has a "Brief History of..."
page that has really good, easy, brief histories of all the major
holidays - culturally accurate, so they bring in all the various
elements that contribute to holiday celebrations as we know them. I
learned more about Halloween and Easter and.....  than I ever would
have thought. Fab teaching site, fun for kids and parents, and kids can email everyone from Santa to the Tooth Fairy to the Easter Bunny to.....  you name it.  And awesome photos of all of them....
