Has anyone here read a parenting book worth the $ paid for it? I have - it's called God's A-Parent Image. The stack of parenting books in the corner of my room left me feeling like a crappy parent compared to those "experts", but this book im talking about was not only freshly insightful, but it was humorous and easy to read too. Andf it worked in my home not to mention. Im sure it is unique from other books but if you have a good title you would like to share, we would like to hear about it. You can get God's A-Parent Image at amazon right now for about $9. Happy parenting!

Does this book have any religion in it by any chance? Judging by it's title it is something I wouldn't even contemplate but each to their own convictions. I am glad you found it useful.

I'm curious about the religious aspect too. I'm happy that book has worked for you.
I recently ordered (also from amazon.com), a book called 1-2-3 Magic. It's written by a dr, and it discusses affective discipline methods for children. I think it was about $10. This book has been a great resource for us.

I am currently reading "Parkin Lot Rules" by Tom Sturges... It's got some pretty good ideas and they are simple common sense suggestions we can all put into place.

Try 123 Magic by Thomas Phelan

It works with non aggressive discipline and consequences

I've read 123Magic.I thought it was a good book. To me (an assist. teacher)who am always looking and reading books about parenting/disclipline/ children ect. so I can learn more about this area thought that it would work on parents only if they kept to it. You have to be consistent with it, both you and your husband or it probably won't work the way I read about it.
