How much time, effort, money, do you spend on extra activities for your kids. Sports, Music, Drama, Visual Arts, Community Clubs, Church. What determines the children's participation, availability of programs, or your child's interest?

I'm sorry I wasn't more clear. I hope I can do better. I was just wondering how other parents decide what resources to spend on activities that aren't in the school day. Particularly when the children are still young, pre-teenagers.
