12 year old stealing and pretending to be stupid at school

Ok my twelve year old daughter stole from her aunt back in November iPod touch and hide it in her room. She took it to school once that we know of. Issue is aunt is really sick, and can't deal with the stress and hunted for it for days while my daughter pretended to help.the iPod was not the aunts out was her relatives on the other side of the family. Needless to say we knew something was up since she would not let anyone in her room.. we tore everything out and found it in closet under stack of clothes. She was grounded and required to right an apology to aunt and owner of the iPod. Plugs she had to raise money to buy iTunes card to give to that person. She started failing math and language she made comments like I don't want people to think I'm an over achiever. She would do the work at home and refuse to turn it in. We have been taking her to tutoring early before school. Talked to teachers got her away from select kids that cause issues, but nothing is working. She just stole my husband's iPad he has to have for work. It is not his the company he works for Owns it. She took it late last night n hide or in her underwear drawer. He was looking for it this morning and asked about it she said don't worry go to work look for it when you get home on lunch. Well I am assuming she was going to get it and place it some where he would see it when he got home but he stayed and kept looking so she didn't have time. When she got home she was confronted by her uncle and she told him she had it in her room.. this could have cost uncle n dad their job they both have to use it two weeks a month when on call. I don't know what to do. We have tried to do positive creditors where party Jr for doing cos and doing good in school. She has new touch mp3 player, desktop computer, laptop, nice name brand clothes, it's not like she doesn't have anything she just keeps getting grounded from them when she does this stuff. Help please we need all the help we can get. Thought about home schooling, or private school but not sure that will honestly help
