My wife and I have a list but we keep coming back to Griffin.  We really like it but our last name is Finnigan.  I doesn't technically rhyme but is it too close? Griffin Finnigan or Nickname Griff Finnigan doesn't seem to flow. We would appreciate your thoughts.
This is tough because Griffin is such a great, strong name for your first son.  Do you have any other names in mind?  Could you use Griffin as a middle name (or one of two middle names)?  Some examples might include:   James Griffin Finnigan James Griffin William Finnigan   If you substituted the names I have put in with some of your own favorites you might find a combination that you like.   Good Luck!
Hi, I completely understand your concern with the names not sounding right. I went through this with my last son. Every name that I really liked did not go with our last name Schell. Think  Rockland Schell aka rocky schell or Clayton Schell aka Clay Schell or my favorite Harrison Schell aka Harry Schell. In the end my mother and husband decided on the name of Darrien Christopher Schell and I am so glad a did not chose to go with the before mentioned awkward names. Just keep looking we did not get Darrien until I was in the hospital in labor, and if all else fails go with what you really love, just keep in mind he will be called this the rest of his life. Good Luck!!!
I love that  name. but i totally agree with DrakeandDarriensMom
go with what you love and feels right
